I just finished Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and it is without doubt the weirdest novel I have ever read.
It put me in a weird place, maaaaan.
I’ve only read five of his novels, but I love that one. Hard-Boiled Wonderland is fantastically strange, but Wind-up does so many things so well. Love the characters, love the pacing, and the oddness that is made even more strange by the balance that’s maintained. And I think I like the ending better than the rest…
